I’m going to talk about something that many ladies deal with but don’t talk about – facial hair. I’d be willing to bet the majority of us have that soft downy peach fuzz. Unfortunately, if you’re pale skinned and dark haired like me, that peach fuzz is not as cute as it sounds. It’s embarrassing and annoying. For my birthday this year, my son gave me a Finishing Touch Flawless, because every time the ad came on TV for the last few months, I would say “Oooh I need that.” I have not been paid for this review and nobody has given me any compensation, so it is based solely on my own experience.
What Is The Finishing Touch Flawless?
Firstly, I will explain what the JML Finishing Touch Flawless is. It’s a hair removal device that looks like a lipstick, has an 18 karat gold plated head and shaves the hair off from sensitive areas. It’s battery operated so there’s no worries about plugging it in to charge.
Isn’t It A Bit Manly To Use A Razor?
What’s great about this is that it’s very feminine. Firstly, I liked the fact that it was shaped like a lipstick, although it is slightly larger than any lipstick I’ve ever had. I’d say it’s more like one of those retractable powder brushes in size. It’s available in white and blush. I have the white version and there’s a rose-gold coloured detail on the cap that makes it very modern and on-trend. When you remove the cap, the head looks like the electric razors I’ve seen my husband use, except there’s only one disc, whereas his has two. It’s made of 18 karat gold which is great because I have really sensitive skin and it means I don’t have to worry about being allergic to the razor.
Is It Easy To Use?
It’s easy to switch on and off, just by sliding a little button upwards. When it works, you can’t even see the razor moving. It does make quite a lot of noise, much more than I had predicted. This is problematic for me because I want to use it before my morning shower and if nobody else is up yet, it wakes them. If there’s one way that this device can be improved, that’s it.
Does It Leave Stubble?
Something I really like about it is the fact that there is a dazzlingly bright light on it, so you can use it in dim light and it also illuminates your skin so you don’t miss any hairs. Not that you would, because this razor catches everything and it gives an exceptionally close shave.
Is It A Good Alternative To Bleaching/Waxing?
I’ve always been a fan of bleaching rather than actual hair removal for the facial area, so this was a new experience for me. I did try depilatory creams in my teens and found the smell was putrid. Then when I was pregnant I tried something that looked like sandpaper. The idea behind it was that you smooth the hair away. Well, it did that but it also smoothed a layer of skin away. As for waxing, don’t get me started. Ouch. What I really like about the Finishing Touch Flawless is that it doesn’t leave my skin red or irritated. It also doesn’t hurt at all. I don’t have to use weird chemicals and I can apply make-up straight away once I’m finished.
The other thing that’s worth mentioning is that it’s cleaner to use and much less messy than bleaching. You get a tiny brush to clean the inside of the razor head and that only needs to be done once a week.
Is It Expensive?
I’ve been using it every day since my birthday on 26th July and I’ve noticed one amazing thing. The battery hasn’t depleted yet. That’s every single day, for around six weeks and it’s still going. It runs on one AA battery so it isn’t going to break the bank.
This gets an enthusiastic two thumbs up from me. I love it. I’m going to use it every day and I highly recommend it. The JML Finishing Touch Flawless costs £19.99 and is available from Superdrug.
