    Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser Review

Another beauty review today, and that’s because I’ve got yet another empty bottle in my bathroom! The second empty is Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser. This is different from the last blog I wrote in that this is for a premium product. Some would call it mid-range, (I used to!) but those people have got too much money to burn. I’m on Carer’s Allowance and I think this is bloody expensive. Annoyingly, I couldn’t find it on Amazon for less than $60, but I can assure you, when I bought it, it was around £20 in my local department store, which is still pricey. If you’re not put off by that…

The Lazy Girl’s Guide To Saving The Planet

It’s the hot topic for January 2020, isn’t it? Everywhere you go there’s people preaching to you about how to live your life better. Go vegan. Drive electric. Ban plastic. In fact, just cancel farting while you’re at it because that’s methane. Which is evil AF. The thing is, I’m really concerned about what’s happening to the planet, and how fast it’s happening, because there’s a good chance that me and my son will still be here in 50 years time and possibly even some grandchildren too but I don’t want to lose the joy in life and I certainly don’t want holier-than-thou-save-the-world types preaching at me constantly. Here is…

Cool Ways To Celebrate The Spring Equinox

Over the last few years, I’ve become increasingly interested in nature and in particular, in the seasons. Perhaps it’s because I now have a different pace of life as a writer and don’t constantly look at a calendar the way I did when I was working in administrative jobs. When you’re in admin you type the date every time you type a letter so are constantly aware of what time of year it is. Now, I look for signs like snowdrops appearing and the changes in daylight to signal when seasons are changing. Let’s face it, you can’t rely on the temperature, can you? Especially not in Scotland. So, today’s…

Interview: Solving A Murder Mystery With J S Strange

Happy St. David’s Day readers! To celebrate this special day here on Rock Paper Spirit, I’ve invited Welsh author J S Strange to join me for an evening of fine Welsh food, great conversation about Jack’s new book and… murrrrderrrr! Yes, it’s a murder mystery themed party and somebody’s just been murdered. Can Jack Strange figure out who did the foul deed? Read on to find out! (Disclaimer: This is an interview with Jack for which neither of us have been paid, but there are a couple of affiliate links, from which I will receive a small amount of commission if you make a purchase) Welcome to Rock Paper Spirit,…

Interview: Time Travelling With Craig Hallam

Today on Rock Paper Spirit, we’re doing something a little different. I’ve stolen a time machine and travelled back to Victorian London with author Craig Hallam, who has written the Alan Shaw books, a series of steampunk adventures set in – you guessed it – Victorian London! (Disclaimer: Neither I nor Craig have been paid for this interview, but the post does contain links to Amazon from which I will receive a small amount of commission if you make a purchase) Craig, welcome to my site and to the 19th century! Can you tell us a little bit about the Alan Shaw books please? Hi Lacey. Thanks for having me…
