A to Z Blogging Challenge: C is for Cyprus

I’m now onto the third day of my A to Z Blogging Challenge. I’ve started scheduling posts from here on out for two reasons. Firstly, I have a meeting today that’s going to be emotionally challenging. It’s fully possible that the next couple of weeks are going to be spent going over this in my head, although I know I shouldn’t. That’s just what happens when you’re upset about something and you feel powerless. The other reason is that Luke is on spring break from school and we’re heading down to England on holiday. I’ll be keeping up to date with what other bloggers are writing but it’s going to…

A to Z Blogging Challenge: B is for Broken Heels

Welcome back to my A to Z Blogging Challenge for 2019. I’m currently trying to write 1000 words per day, every day in April, with the theme of my wish list, but yesterday didn’t go as well as I’d hoped. I managed about 750, but that’s still pretty good. That was my A is for Abbey Road piece which you can read here. Today, I’m moving on to writing B is for Broken Heels. You might think that sounds like a weird thing to put on my wish list, but bear with me. It’s not as weird as it sounds because Broken Heels is the name of my new blog.…

A to Z Blogging Challenge 2019: A is for Abbey Road

Welcome to my A to Z Blogging Challenge posts for 2019. It’s going to be an interesting month for me as I try to squeeze out 1000 words per day (except Sundays, of course) about things that are on my wish list. This could mean things I want to do, things I want to see, places I want to visit or experiences I wish I could have. So, there might be travel posts, book posts, lifestyle articles – anything that takes my fancy. These blogs will be interspersed with my usual reviews and business stuff, so normal service is continuing, just with a little bit extra. Today is A for…

Uruguay: A Surprising Choice For Tourists

A couple of weeks ago I started writing a series of posts on the places in the world I’d like to go to, including Jordan and New Caledonia. I never did get it finished, so I’m continuing today. The funny thing about these places is that they’re off the usual tourist trail. No beaches in Thailand or Machu Pichu for me. Today, for the third place on my list, I’ve chosen Uruguay. There are a few reasons why and I have to say that for a while back in my early-30s I was obsessed with getting there. If I hadn’t had a small baby at the time, I might have…

New Caledonia: A Little Piece of Paradise

There are hundreds of places in the world that I would love to see and probably never will. In this series of posts, I’m writing about these places, sharing a little bit of information about what pulls me to them. Today is number 4 on my top 5 list and it’s New Caledonia. The first time I heard about New Caledonia was when my Dad talked about his time in Australia as a young man. He worked in a factory and made some friends there who were also immigrants. They were from New Caledonia. I’ll have to verify this story with him again in case I’ve remembered it wrong but…
