A to Z Blogging Challenge: I is for Interlagos

I try to make every post on my site contain at least 1,000 words. That’s because Google sees posts that are that length and over as highly authoritative and affects my site’s credibility. But sometimes, you just don’t have 1,000 words to say about a topic. Reviews for example are really difficult to stretch out to 1,000 word at times. Then there are other topics I’ve written about that end up with almost 2,000 words. There’s even been the rare occasion when I’ve had a post that reads like a novella. Today on the A to Z Blogging Challenge I’m writing about Interlagos, a place I thought I could write…

Lazeeva: Proof That The Universe Works In Mysterious Ways

I’m going to get all spiritual for a moment. If you clicked on this article because it’s about Lazeeva, thinking this was going to feature bare bums and boobs and people who sound like they’re having asthma attacks, I’m sorry, you’re on the wrong site. Actually, I’m not, but thank you for visiting. For those regular readers who think they’re going to be put off because I’m talking about a pornography site, fear not. It’s actually about about my own faith and spirituality. I can hear my Dad breathing a sigh of relief already. Last year I set an intention. I wanted to get 5000 blog hits in one day.…

What I’ve Been Fangirling On This Week: Electric Cars!

There is something I really want to write about. I’ve fallen in love with the idea of owning an electric car. In the last few days I’ve been doing a lot of research about them and there are so many advantages that I can’t see any reason not to buy one now. Here are the five reasons why I’m determined to buy an electric car. They cost less to run I’ve read varying reports about how much it costs to run an electric car. First I read an article that said charging costs around 4 or 5p per mile. Then I read another that said you pay £1.20 to connect…

Uruguay: A Surprising Choice For Tourists

A couple of weeks ago I started writing a series of posts on the places in the world I’d like to go to, including Jordan and New Caledonia. I never did get it finished, so I’m continuing today. The funny thing about these places is that they’re off the usual tourist trail. No beaches in Thailand or Machu Pichu for me. Today, for the third place on my list, I’ve chosen Uruguay. There are a few reasons why and I have to say that for a while back in my early-30s I was obsessed with getting there. If I hadn’t had a small baby at the time, I might have…

New Caledonia: A Little Piece of Paradise

There are hundreds of places in the world that I would love to see and probably never will. In this series of posts, I’m writing about these places, sharing a little bit of information about what pulls me to them. Today is number 4 on my top 5 list and it’s New Caledonia. The first time I heard about New Caledonia was when my Dad talked about his time in Australia as a young man. He worked in a factory and made some friends there who were also immigrants. They were from New Caledonia. I’ll have to verify this story with him again in case I’ve remembered it wrong but…
