    Hello Autumn 2019

I’m not a huge fan of autumn. To be honest, it’s probably my least favourite season. It’s all about things dying, whether that’s flowers, the leaves on trees or the warm summer days coming to an end. I can’t get excited about dark nights, unless there are Christmas lights involved or autumn leaves even if they turning are my favourite colours. This year is different though. Because summer was a time of hard work, uncertainty and exhaustion, autumn 2019 feels like rebirth rather than death. I’ve decided to embrace the season this year and make it a time of mindfulness. I’m beginning September by returning to being a full-time writer…

Zippos Circus – The Best Night Of The Summer

Every once in a while, a press trip comes along that is an absolute dream come true, because not only does it give me some fantastic pictures and a great story to share with you, but it makes my son laugh for two hours solid too. Monday night delivered such a trip. My family and I went to along to see Zippos Circus at the Low Green in Ayr. We were gifted tickets to see the show and have some snacks, but all opinions are my own. If you live in the UK, you might have seen posters for Zippos Circus around over the years. I know I have. Let’s Get Personal

It’s been a while since I wrote an off-the-cuff blog that isn’t spammy sponsored, so I thought that it was about time I got back into my office and wrote something that is a bit more personal. At the start of this year, I did quite a few diary-style posts and the main reason why I did that was because it was therapeutic for me. The pleasant side-effect was that it really kick-started my blog again and got some traffic back onto the site. I made some great connections with new people too. So, I thought that it might be nice to update regular readers (mostly my family) with what’s…

Rum’s Pethood Story – Sponsored by Petplan

This post is in conjuction with Petplan but all thoughts are my own. ADVERTISEMENT I’ve never made a secret of my love for my dog, Rum. In fact, he’s probably the best friend I’ve ever had. I’ve written blog posts about him before and he even has his own Instagram page where he’s slowly building a loyal following of people who love him just as much as I do. Our relationship began in October 2015. My family was going through a particularly rocky time. We needed something positive to focus on and it happened when a family friend called and said that her dog, Tiegan, had just given birth to…

Everlast Rocketbooks – Review and Giveaway

I don’t know if all writers feel this way, but I am totally in love with stationery. My house is full of it. I probably have way too much. One item in particular that I completely obsess over is notebooks. You can never have enough in my opinion and I’ve tried so many different kinds, from the budget ones, to cutesy fashion notebooks to expensive artisan types. They’re all good in my opinion. Since becoming a student and starting to take blogging seriously, I’ve been looking for notebooks that offer a little more than just a piece of paper to write on. I’ve tried some smart notebooks before and been…
