A to Z Blogging Challenge: D is for Dark Nights and Fairy Lights

The first week of the A to Z Blogging Challenge is now almost up. After today, there will be two more posts and then a break for a standard review post. I have to say, I’m really enjoying writing about the things I daydream about and hopefully you are all enjoying reading them. If not, don’t worry. Normal service will resume on 1st May. Today, you get D for Dark Nights and Fairy Lights. Yes, you guessed it. It’s a Christmas blog post, but I already used C for Cyprus, so I had to be more specific and list what I love about Christmas. Dark nights and fairy lights conjure…

A to Z Blogging Challenge: C is for Cyprus

I’m now onto the third day of my A to Z Blogging Challenge. I’ve started scheduling posts from here on out for two reasons. Firstly, I have a meeting today that’s going to be emotionally challenging. It’s fully possible that the next couple of weeks are going to be spent going over this in my head, although I know I shouldn’t. That’s just what happens when you’re upset about something and you feel powerless. The other reason is that Luke is on spring break from school and we’re heading down to England on holiday. I’ll be keeping up to date with what other bloggers are writing but it’s going to…

The last couple of days have felt like spring here in Scotland, so I’ve started thinking about spring holidays. Here in the UK, Mother’s Day is just around the corner as we celebrate it in March. I’ve started looking around for cool Mother’s Day gifts that aren’t the usual, unimaginative rubbish. I know I would appreciate something with a little more thought though. Here are a few suggestions for cute, cool or quirky Mother’s Day…

    Benidorm – First Impressions

It’s been eleven years since I last visited the Spanish mainland. Back in 2007 I did a lot of travelling around Spain and Morocco. On my last visit I went to a sherry tasting class in Cadiz and met a professional flamenco dancer. This trip will have none of those kinds of experiences. It will be spent having quiet family time, taking siestas together, playing in the pool and fooling around on the beach. It’s fair to say I am having a good time already but I miss home. Everything is so different here. It’s not just the pace of life or the language. It’s the smells, the plants, the…

Fancy A Cheeky Woo Woo In The Bath?

Here at RockPaperSpirit, we can’t get enough of quirky, niche brands. So when I opened up last month’s Pink Parcel and found a bottle of Woo Woo scented body wash inside, there were squeals of delight. Step forward Boozi Bodycare. They were founded in 2014 by Suzi McCarthy and the concept behind their cocktail-inspired range was to bring fun, summer party inspired scents into the bathroom while at the same time providing high-quality, nourishing, luxurious ingredients. If you’re a proper grown up with a family, mortgage and responsibilities like me, there’s a good chance that the only time you drink cocktails is on holiday so when I opened up the…
